Hi everyone,
Hope ye are all safe and well.. It’s a long month at the best of times.. Better days ahead, far from out of the woods yet.. Anyway, i’m sure like me, are full up with Covid talk / news.. So the hitman is back on and I think we have another load of records to sell ye folks today… Selling them isn’t out problem, getting them onto our shop floor is the problem(s)… All we can ask for here is patience please and all we can offer are apologies… If Covid wasn’t such a huge daily news cycle, Brexit issues would be dominating the news.. My own opinion, it’s very challenging and very tricky.. Issues for us, delays big time, VAT Issues, Customs Duties on some items… Deal me arse.. Or if there is a deal, what would no deal have been… Everything we sent to the UK in December (not much thankfully now, maybe 15 orders, including a Planar 1 is being ‘returned to sender’… us!!)… Here is word for word what our courier emailed us on the 15th Jan.. ‘Apologies, customs have stopped all parcels going into UK until further notice. Unfortunately this was out of our hands and all parcels are RTS’… Anyway, it will iron out (hopefully) but it’s a mess at the moment… Just an update on delays here so folks know… Bowie Birthday single due today / tomorrow finally, shipped on the 11th of Jan… Shame Indies Only LP shipping out of the UK today i’m told, CD here as is other vinyl… Sleaford Mods due today / tomorrow.. Alice in Chains ‘Facelift’ due also.. Kurt Vile has landed also.. There are loads of little problems but this week things seem to moving a bit better… Uni and Warner stock moving the best.. We will be in touch when your record is here.. Delivery only as well obviously for now..
Right, enough moaning Raymond… Releases for this weekend the 22nd of Jan.. We have the BOWIE ‘Station to Station’ 45th Anniversary record on Red or White Variants I believe… This has landed.. A sign we are getting back on track! A Few I failed to mention up to now.. Rhino are running what they call ‘Start Your Ear Off’ campaign of once off coloured vinyl pressings so we will have very soon TALKING HEADS ‘Speaking In Tongues’ €24 and ‘The Name Of This Band Is’ €24, THE CARS ‘Shake It Up’ €20 and BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD’s ‘Best Of’ also for 20 bucks… Can’t go wrong there folks… Pure class.. All due very soon.. We don’t have them on the site just yet, so if you are interested nod our way and we will put away… should have links for next week.. Also due for this Friday is the new BICEP album ‘Isles’ on Warp, SAM AMIDON’s debut LP is reissued and here now for release Friday is BILLIE JOE ARMSTRONG & NORAH JONES’ lovely LP ‘Foreverly’…
Sony ones due for this week have a blast of once off coloured vinyl reissues by SANTANA, SIMON & GARFUNKEL, BOB DYLAN, MILES DAVIS, LOU REED and ELVIS PRESLEY…
I think that’s about it for releases for this Friday the 22nd… We will get there folks, bare with us… It’s a tricky working environment anyway at the moment.. Website only… Pair it up with our deal / no deal Brexit.. But things do seem to be moving this week.. Also if you see anything on these pages that you want.. We have absolutely no problem putting it away for you until click & collect, call & collect returns or until the shop re-opens… No problem, just let us know.. Record companies are giving longer credit terms so all fine.. Ask away!!
Right so onto the 29th of January… ARLO PARK’s debut record (as said last week) is out on Transgressive via PIAS.. One press only red vinyl first pressing available and CD also.. Also out from PIAS on the 29th is MARTIN GORE’s new E.P. ‘The Third Chimpanzee’ via Mute Records on CD or Indies Blue Vinyl, a new GOAT GIRL album, and a JOAN AS POLICE WOMAN live album.. Nice indies blue vinyl also for it..

Coloured Indie LP available and Uni also have some class reissues by PJ HARVEY ‘Is This Desire?’ and ‘Is This Desire? : Demos’, BOB MARLEY’s ‘Songs of Freedom’ Box Set, THIN LIZZY’s ‘Chinatown’, MAMA &THE PAPAS’ ‘If You Can Believe Your Eyes & Ears’, and THE FLYING BURRITO BROTHERS ‘The Gilded Palace Of Sin’. Hey folks,
Bossman is spot on, a few nice ones for this week announced.
We’ll start off this week with the announcement of the brand new album from KINGS OF LEON, ‘When You See Yourself’, being released on CD, Vinyl or Limited Cream Vinyl on March 5th. Liking the sound of the new track ‘100,000 People’, nice and mellow. Will link it here :

Next up is the reissue of JAPAN’s classic ‘Quiet Life’, due into us also on March 5th. There’s a few formats for this one. Standard CD, Indies Only Limited Red Vinyl and a nice 3CD / 1LP Vinyl set, featuring original album, alt mixes, b-sides, singles, rarities and live material – including the sought after ‘lost’ Live at Budokan show from March 1980 previously only available as the 4 track EP ‘Live in Japan’. The vinyl is a half speed master for enhanced sound quality!
NEIL YOUNG’s home-recorded, solo acoustic album ‘THE TIMES’ gets its vinyl release in February following the CD release late last year. A couple of classics, more recent material, and even a Dylan track recorded solo by Mr. Young. Can’t go wrong with that!
TAYLOR SWIFT’s latest release ‘Evermore’ will get the vinyl treatment on limited green vinyl in May, now up for pre-order.
The brilliant WYVERN LINGO are releasing their second studio LP ‘Awake You Lie’ through Rubyworks in February, and it will be available as on CD or Vinyl. Their first album was on heavy rotation in the shop throughout 2018 and we were lucky enough to have them in for an in-store around the time of release of the album! Check out the an acoustic version of new single ‘Rapture’ here :

Just a couple left so I will rattle them off and send you back to the bossman! FOUNTAINS OF WAYNE’s self titled album is being reissued through Music On Vinyl as a limited red vinyl. Also through Music On Vinyl is a reissue of the excellent CRAZY HORSE self titled LP, this one on standard black vinyl. There is a new BLACK SABBATH ‘Volume 4’ Super Deluxe Edition release coming through Warner, as a 4CD set or 5LP Set. JEFF TWEEDY has a new album ‘Love Is The King’ coming also through Warner on CD or LP, and a JIM CROCE Greatest Hits on vinyl also in the pipeline. Finally STING has a new ‘Duets’ compilation album due on CD and LP through Universal in March.
And one last mention from me today, we have now up on the site the latest PEARSE MCGLOUGHLIN & NOCTURNES LP ‘The Rest’, released in 2020. Pearse is a songwriter from Sligo, and the album is making it on a good few Irish Albums of the Year lists at the moment. Really really nice songs, and very interesting textures and sounds throughout. Well worth a listen.
