Going to start with the bad news…FOO FIGHTERS RSD title won’t be in this shop ( before i go on about this inconsequential bit , the really bad news which i forgot to mention last week was the terrible sad news of the passing of FOOs drummer TAYLOR HAWKINS, ahh just fierce sad, fine drummer, good character and gone way too soon really, thoughts with family and band members, horrendous time) anyways the inconsequential bit, i f**ked up on the FOOs RSD release…mea totally culpa…to bore ye with the details, the foos was a late addition and was on a newer Sony RSD sheet…i used the older sheet less the foos title …thought of it after and emailed the rep to tell him id ring him about the foos ( why i didn’t say stick 10 foos on as well please, i don’t know,  but i didn’t, nah Donie Donut here said ill ring ya about the FOOs , which i didn’t cos i forgot …he was on hols then, all copies of it got allocated…zip for us here, mea culpa…sorry.

Right so re the not so good news ( again RSD STUFF) ….the kris krisstofferson/lou reed release is seriously cut…we are just getting one copy from a hope of 7 copies….there was 4 of ye asked about this, best to set yer alarms early…sorry. BLUE VELVET soundtrack another one where wishlist demand beats supply , HUMAN LEAGUE unlimited another one where demand exceeds what will be supplied…so those 3 are early birds job…cuts on a few more also namely BLONDIE, FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD, OFFSPRING, and THE CURE but if you make an effort it should be ok….they are the problemos for now, im sure ill add a few next week!!

We are going to kick onto the great news and delighted to announce something really special, as well as having 20 signed prints to go with 20 of the preorders of the new FONTAINES album , we also will have a signed TEST PRESSING of the new album….sweet as a bloody nut that will be for someone…preorder the album to be in with a chance to win a signed print or the fab signed TEST PRESSING…btw its a no purchase necessary comp, so email us if interested that way…you know what way we, the label and the band would prefer you to enter but can enter comp without purchase also…Shane i think has a video we can share here of the lads signing the prints and the TP….sound job lads and all at Partisan also!!

Some good news, Dave from Cork won the war on drugs tickets , ( if he doesn’t want them or cant use them , we will move to next on the list)…last week also to enter for the Kae TEMPEST tickets in Cypress also…and we have music back for RSD also this year…all good news…more on the RSD music later.

Written, arranged and produced by George Michael, ‘Older’ saw George exploring new music, as he reflected on life, loss and pain with, ultimately, the redemptive power of love triumphing over everything.

Originally released in the UK on 13 May 1996 through Virgin Records, ‘Older’, George Michael’s iconic album, reached the pinnacle of chart success, where it remained for three consecutive weeks, spending 35 weeks in the top 10 overall. The album produced six singles, two of which – ‘Fastlove’ and the haunting ‘Jesus To A Child’ – reached No.1, with the other four peaking in the top three. The album was a huge global commercial success, going 6x platinum in the UK, as well as verified platinum in another 22 countries – an achievement which is unparalleled to this day.

‘Older’ was George’s third album as a solo artist and would see him experimenting with new musical styles and expanding his artistic horizons. Hailed by critics as a triumph, it told the story of an extraordinary period in the life of the man who wrote, recorded and produced it, as he journeyed through one of the most turbulent periods of his professional and personal life. George channeled all his painful life experiences into one of the most personal, heart-felt albums he had ever written.

“I think I composed the best, most healing piece of music that I’ve written in my life with this album … Older is my greatest moment” – George Michael
