Lovely news to start tonight’s newsletter …lovely news of what will be a truly lovely instore.

Wednesday the 29th of October @ 7 pm we are delighted to welcome Mick Flannery & Susan O Neill to the shop for a live performance.

Mick & Susan are launching “ in the game ( Live  2021 to 2025) “ which is released on Friday the 24th …so Mick & Susan will be in with us performing songs from the record and signing copies of the LP and CD for folks and having the chats.

Mick has played countless times now in various Music Zone locations and Susan was in to launch her debut solo record also but we never had them in as a pair … .so looking forward to it!

The studio album “ in the game” came out  in the heart of covid so its amazing they are coming to our little shop to perform for us, it’s the job, the intimacy of instores like this are really special.

Buy the cd or the album from our site HERE and that is your ticket for the instore … .doors will be 6.45 on the night…7 latest.

Space is limited enough obviously so get on it i would think and its Mick & Susan like…will be class.

To those of you who can’t make it or are up the country and would like a signed LP or CD again buy it from the site and note can’t attend but would like a signed copy and we will sort it!

Feel free to bring your own beer cos we might have a bit of a parteeee…also bring a little stool if you require it…sin sin for now about it … CD or LP is your ticket … .that’s the only way to get in … .sound!!

So releases for this Friday the 24th of October as well as “ in the game live 2021 to 2025” include…

Need black friday lists back by 10 am tomorrow … .Universal is gone already but I need the rest by tomorrow morning please!!
Releases then for the 31st of October include…

The springsteen release…trying to defend myself here from a possible onslaught of grief….due originally for the 17th of Oct…is now under pressure for the 24th….and as well as that, they are sending in two different consignments….so we are only getting about 50% of the stock we ordered soon and the rest is to follow on in a a few weeks….so the story is this…half our stock is due hopefully for this Friday …half the cd sets will be fine but vinyl sets only due in warehouse tomorrow so hopefully they can turn ours around in time….its messy as f**k folks…in our defense we done everything by the numbers….ordered enough to more than cover everyone and ordered them in time….but it has turned into a bit of a mess…so apologies…ill be in touch about it…just got an email

Hi all

There have been significant delays in the arrival of stock for both formats of this title at the warehouse.

As a result, it is unlikely most stores will receive their orders by the release date.

Our Operations team is working to ship the stock out the moment it lands, but please be prepared for delays in store fulfilment.

Apologies for any inconvenience this causes.

Main week for this week is the 7th of November so if you spot anything below then please let us know…

The rep says that the new Mavis Staples album is fantastic and features the likes of MJ Lenderman, Jeff Tweedy, Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) and Katie Crutchfield (Waxahatchee).

I did have a full listen and it does sound great….here is a tune

Mavis Staples – “Beautiful Strangers”

Going to hand ye over to Shane now as he takes ye down the road etc

Dont forget Monday coming is a bank holiday so we are closed…over to you Shane kid

Sound, Ray, cheers. Hello everyone, hope all is good with ye.

A good lot today to mention.
Went to see ‘One Battle After Another’ in the cinema last weekend. Very good film. Di Caprio is great in it, and Johnny Greenwoods music is class.

A nice Irish release to mention first, FIONN REGAN’s new album ‘O Avalanche’ is coming out on November 21st! Black vinyl or White Vinyl.
Here’s a bit about it and a track:

“I float sometimes when you’re around,” sings Irish singer-songwriter Fionn Regan on “Islands”, setting the weightlessly romantic tenor for his seventh album. Written in Spain, O Avalanche is an album of levitating intimacies, abstract and intuitive yet infused with a tangible sense of the elevating ties between environment and emotion. Between its sun-dappled backdrops and lambent arrangements, the result is a set of sublime songs and something more: it’s a record to float with, immersive, uplifting and transporting.

His first since 2019’s beautiful Cala, it’s also an album that is, in Fionn’s words, “very much on a level” – shimmering with poetic mystery and bolstered by a sustained feel for atmosphere and shape. As Fionn explains, “I see it sort of like a film that starts cinematically and develops in abstract ways. It moves in different sequences, backwards and forwards. And if you’re thinking about it in a visual way, there’s a quality about it where it’s always magic hour.”

Fionn Regan – O AVALANCHE (Official Video) ft. Anna Friel

Lovely dreamy sound to that.

A band I like, SLEAFORD MODS are releasing a new album, ‘The Demise of Planet X’ on January 16th. Good few formats including cassette and neon green marbled vinyl.
Here’s a tune from it, interesting one – Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones, Wednesday) is aggressively on it! : https://youtu.be/SyVICFIQlDg?si=Lu0HFTGwV_iycDpA

A late in the day arrival, DEPECHE MODE – MEMENTO MORI: Mexico City! Live album. 5 formats of it: 2 CD, 2CD/2 DVD, 2CD/2 Blu Ray, 4 LP black vinyl or indies 4 LP Silver Vinyl
Release date is December 5th. Should be a good one!

Here’s everything else with dates:

That’s my roundup for ye this week. Ar ais leat, Ray. Slán.
