Cracking tune here from the album, i do like Kevins sound

Tame Impala – Dracula (Official Video)

There is a bit of hassle with the SYLVIAN LP reissues due this week ….so we were allocated 5 copies of each….i looked for more but was “ guaranteed” 5 each….we went and sold the 20 records….invoice comes in yesterday morning with 2 or 3  copies only of each reissue coming in….not the 5 each promised….

Reps response here “ hi bud

we are waiting on more stock.

should be with us in a couple of weeks”….that rep is sound btw

So look first two names for each and im hoping the rest of ye will wait the few weeks….sorry!!

Frustrating from our end when promised X and get B….but the lad is trying to manage stock across 200 shops….nightmare id say…Sorry again

Wonderful Cork rockers HOPE IS NOISE have a new single and video out from their forthcoming album…here is the tune…enjoy

Why have you got that face? – Hope is Noise

Going to hand ye over to Shane now as he takes ye down the road as always….any jokes or anything Shane as i feel as if all we are doing is trying to hawk records…not a whole pile of craic from me with this newsletter….i suppose a load coming at us this weather….8 weeks of it …8 weeks of solid hawking ahead folks

Anyways over to you Shane!

Haha, sound, Ray, I know! Basically you know in those tornado storms that they get in the US when it hailstorms sliotar sized chunks of ice? We feel a bit like someone in that with a camán trying to defend ourselves. White Christmas from Hell!
Ah look, we all love the siopa and ye folk, but the hawking is intense. I think most of ye enjoy the newsletter so we’ll keep at it.

Really like the new Hope is Noise track/video above!

One that jumped out at me this week is PRINCE & THE REVOLUTION – Purple Rain – Limited One-Step Vinyl Pressing. This is a high quality pressing of the album, a bit like the Mobile Fidelity ones. Numbered and with different packaging/cover. One for the audiophiles.
A classic album, of course. Prince was a genius. Was lucky enough to see him in Malahide Castle a few years before he died.
Here’s a bit more info about the pressing. Interesting. Pricey but maybe worth it if you have a high end system:
“One-Step vinyl is the ultimate vinyl pressing. Because Sound Matters’ meticulous One-Step process creates the definitive-sounding audiophile version of the all-time classic album, Prince’s Purple Rain. 192kHz/24bit files transferred from the original EQ’d analog master tapes have been used to ensure Purple Rain has never sounded better!

This initial pressing of this One-Step version is limited to 6,000 copies. The album is housed inside a top-quality, uniquely designed numbered slipcase. The enclosed LP will feature an “Old Style” single pocket gatefold tip-on jacket with original artwork, including the original inner sleeve and poster.

Special care has been taken to faithfully preserve the original sound with exceptional clarity and depth, capturing the recording’s nuances and subtleties at every step, in order to create the best sounding, record possible.

The One-Step process is highly regarded among audiophiles and collectors for its unparalleled sound fidelity and represents the pinnacle of vinyl manufacturing craftsmanship.

Having sold over 25 million copies, Purple Rain isn’t only one of the best-selling records of all time, it is considered a creative masterpiece. A classic for all time!

In 2010, Purple Rain was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. In 2012, the album was added to the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry list of sound recordings that “are culturally, historically, or aesthetically important.” In 2019, the film was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the United States National Film Registry for being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”

Purple Rain was recorded, mixed and mastered on analog tape including a couple live performances captured at First Avenue in Minneapolis. Only a ¼” EQ’d analog master tape was ever delivered to Warner Bros. by Prince – clearly a sign that was the source he ALWAYS wanted to be used in manufacturing. After 40 years, Because Sound Matters did not want to run the risk of additional wear and tear on this iconic tape as several playbacks would be necessary in the One-Step process – so, they used an original 192kHz/24bit file transfer, as opposed to a more recent 96kHz/24bit update.

They listened and analyzed many different vinyl LP pressings. Most of those sounded very good, but what they accomplished was being able to surpass the sound of original 45rpm 12″ pressings of the singles. Not an easy task considering the length of sides on Purple Rain and, in the process, created the best sounding version of this iconic record ever.

I’m going to list out the rest for ye. The OASIS Live one is definitely another stand-out, and I’m biased but THE OFFSPRING – Conspiracy of One: 25th Anniversary is another good one.
