Salif Keita – The Golden Voice Of Africa (9CD)

RELEASE DATE: 31st October 2025

Unlike many famous African singers who are known only for a few hits, Salif Keita endures. His audience, in fact, has been increasing for over fifty years; once beguiled, his listeners have remained captivated by this unique voice: the gravelly voice of an angel of such perfection in its lyricism and emotion that no nightingale with its hit parade could ever be its equal.

Celebrating a fifty-year career, the release of this set of nine studio albums, produced between 1987 and 2012, released through Island Records and Emarcy / Universal Music France, allows us to discover not the complete opus of Salif Keita but in fact a rich repertoire filled with wonders.

Even before internationally successful remixes of his songs such as “Yamore,” “Kalababcroro,” and “Madan”, Salif Keita has been one of the most popular musicians in African pop music. His songs and his voice are as fresh and distinctive today as they were four decades ago when his first studio album was released. To mark his fifty-year musical career, the first CD box set is now being released, featuring nine studio albums released between 1987 and 2012: “Soro” (1987), “Ko-Yan” (1989), “Amen” (1991), “Folon” (1995), “Papa” (1999), “Moffou” (2002), “M’bemba” (2005), “La Différence” (2009), and “Talé” (2012).

Nine albums in paper sleeves with original artwork plus 56-page booklet in a cap box.
