How’s it going everyone, hope ye’re all well. Lots of releases once again this week to get through. It’s great to have so much choice and things to look forward to in music, keeps us all going! Can be a bit mean on the wallet though! First up is the 40th anniversary edition of MJ’s ‘Thriller’. Out in November on 2 CD and 2 LP. Biggest selling album of all time? He was some talent. Sad about the other stuff though. Second is definitely one to look forward to, Paolo Nutini is releasing a brand new album in July, called ‘Last Night in the Bittersweet’. We like him in the shop. Interesting artist and this one sounds interesting: “‘Last Night In The Bittersweet’ is a 70-minute epic that spans the distance from classic rock to post-punk to hypnotic Krautrock, in the process proving its value as his deepest, most varied, most accomplished, and ultimately most rewarding set so far. The insistent Motorik rhythms of new single ‘Lose It’ brings shades of early ‘70s German bands like Can and Neu!, and are a product of Paolo writing increasingly on bass guitar. At the other end of the spectrum, ‘Through The Echoes’ is a timeless classic in the lineage of Ben E. King and Otis Redding, with Nutini’s vocal delivery reminding us why he got snapped up by Atlantic in the first place.” Third is another favourite of the shop’s ASH. They are reissuing their debut 1977 on cool splattered vinyl (see above), also in July. Great band! And in September, DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE have a brand new one, ‘Asphalt Meadows’, we will have the indies pink version of that! Also coming around the corner YUNGBLUD‘s new album, a new one from THE DREAM SYNDICATE, YARD ACT are reissuing their ‘Dark Days EP’ on limited silver vinyl and even more limited cassette, a MADNESS reissue, anniversary reissue from SHAKESPEARS SISTER and finally a new release from FAYE WEBSTER coming in October. Adam and Ray are back with another vidjo! https://youtu.be/pe2G4iAIIUY That’s all from me this week.. Back to you Ray, sound! Thanks Shane!! Right so Integral then for the 10th June have (and unfortunately this one is sold out on vinyl) DAVID SYVLAIN “ sleepwalkers” revised and remastered version on Groenland records…we were only allocated a few vinyl and lads had asked for it before i even knew about it…vinyl gone for everyone else sorry…but there is a CD version also …which includes an unreleased track. Here is “ world citizen…” with Ryuichi Sakamoto(301) David Sylvian ~ World Citizen (I won’t be dissapointed) – YouTube ![]() Ray, Shane and Young Adam |
