Elvin Bishop – The Blues Rolls On (Vinyl)

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Blues Hall of Fame inductee Elvin Bishop is back to his Blues roots with the release of ‘The Blues Rolls On’, now available for the first time on vinyl! Jamming with Elvin is a bunch of his friends, such as Derek Trucks, Kim Wilson, George Thorogood, Warren Haynes, and the legendary B B King. ‘The Blues Rolls On’ is a searing collection of studio sessions, one live track, and a Paul Butterfield Band tune, “Yonder’s Wall.” Before the album can close with a shimmering instrumental of Jimmy Reed’s “Honest I Do,” there’s a bunch of standout tracks to groove on, such as the swampy Zydeco blues of “Black Gal” and a foot-stompin’, solo electric take of Bishop’s “Oklahoma.” Two R&B provides further highlights covers, Ray Charles’ “Night Time Is the Right Time” and Junior Wells’ “I Found Out.”
