Blue Note was home to numerous great Hammond B3 organists in the ’60s, and in 1968 Reuben Wilson’s debut album On Broadway introduced a distinctive new stylist whose punchy hard-grooving approach enlivened a diverse set of material with a dynamic band featuring Trevor Lawrence on tenor saxophone, Malcolm Riddick on guitar, and Tommy Derrick on drums. This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is stereo, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.
