New Eels & Black Country, New Road, Silverbacks Return, and The Passing of an Irish Legend.

Hi Everyone,

Hope all is well enough.. We are in holiday mode here at your local LP, CD & Cassette Emporium.. Shane is enjoying a few well earned days off, Bob’s off next week and i’m off the week after.. So with Shane off today, i’m in the siopa or about to leave it soon now.. So Bob is on newsletter duties from home.. Normally the newsletter is a tag team and the two of us work on it on Wednesday.. But Bob is mainly in charge of taking ye’r money this week.. Before I let him to it.. Paddy Moloney from The Chieftain’s passed away in the last few days.. Bit of a tribal leader in many ways, as The Cheiftain’s carried the Irish Traditional flag proudly for so many years.. I remember the Sony rep coming into the Golden Discs shop on 25 Patrick Street circa 94/95 i’d say and having a little pop quiz.. He played a CD and we were to tell who t’was… It ended up being Gordon Sumner ‘as gaeilge’ with the bould Chieftains.. Always finding new ways.. Respected the globe over.. R.I.P Paddy..

I’ll hand ye to the Bob man for now so..

Onto releases for October 29th and it’s a busy week again. A big week of releases from Warner. They have new ED SHEERAN album ‘=’ out on CDVinyl or Indies Vinyl. Warner have a new EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER Boxset ‘Anthology 1970 – 1998’ on 3CD or 4LP and there is also a live box set release from ELP, called ‘Out Of This World : Live (1970-1997)‘ on 7CD or 10LP sets. There is a BLACK VEIL BRIDES album ‘The Phantom Tomorrow’, a reissue of FALCO’s ‘Emotional’ on 3CD/DVD or Vinyl, a new JOE BONAMASSA release entitled ‘Time Clocks’ on Deluxe Box CD or indies exclusive gold vinyl.

Warner for the 29th also have the highly anticipated new album from MASTODON, ‘Hushed And Grim’, their first since 2017. This one is coming on 2CDVinyl or indies only Clear vinyl. There is a new MOTORHEAD compilation album released via BMG for the 29th, ‘Everything Louder Forever – The Very Best Of’. It is released on 2CD2LP vinyl or deluxe 4LP foldout cover vinyl pressing. BMG via WEA also have a new OVERKILL boxset release ‘The Atlantic Years: 1986-1994’, on 6CD or 6LP.

Couple of big ones left with Warner. PINK FLOYD’s ‘A Momentary Lapse of Reason’ is reissued on CD2LP Vinyl, CD/BluRay or CD/DVD with remixed and updated audio, done for the ‘Later Years’ project in 2019. All remixing done from the original tapes. RICHARD ASHCROFT’s ‘Acoustic Hymns Vol. 1’ is also out on the 29th. It is a collection of 12 newly recorded acoustic versions of hits from throughout his solo career and his time with The Verve. WHITESNAKE have a 25th Anniversary release of ‘Restless Heart’ out via Rhino on 2CD2LP Silver Vinyl4CD/DVD or Standard 1CD.

Last but definitely not least from Warner for the 29th is the release of the brand new WAR ON DRUGS album ‘I Don’t Live Here Anymore’, one we are very excited for in the siopa. The last couple of records have been top class. It is coming on CD, standard vinyl, Indies Exclusive Blue vinyl or as a really limited red vinyl we are lucky to be getting a few copies of. We also have a pair of tickets up for grabs for anyone who pre-orders the album for the band’s show in the 3Arena in Dublin in April 2022. Here is the single ‘Living Proof’.. Lovely song. Great band.

On to Universal for October 29th. Well first we need to mention a Uni release for November 6th. ABBA’s ‘Voyage’ lands in with us on Nov 6th, the band’s 9th studio album and first album in 40 years. The vinyl pressing, both the standard and exclusive blue vinyl are both very limited so we need to have numbers in for orders this week (a week earlier, hence plugging it with Oct 29th stock). So if interested give us a nudge or up on the website! Other formats for ABBA include CDCassette or Deluxe Eco Box CD..

Onto releases from Universal for October 29th. Uni’s biggest release is the R.E.M reissue of ‘New Adventures in Hi-Fi’, for the 25th Anniversary of the album. This release is coming as a 2LP2CD/BluRay set or as a 2CD. Uni also have a brand new album from TORI AMOS entitled ‘Ocean to Ocean’, her first since 2017’s ‘Native Invader’. This one is coming on CD or as a 2LP Vinyl.

Universal have the release of NAT KING COLE’s ‘A SENTIMENTAL CHRISTMAS WITH NAT KING COLE AND FRIENDS: COLE CLASSICS REIMAGINED’, which sees reworked classic tracks with duets from artists such as John Legend, Calum Scott, Johnny Mathis and more. Final bits from Universal include a nice Island Records compilation LP entitled ‘The Vinyl Series Volume 3’, featuring a nice collection of folk / acoustic based material in which Island Records was founded upon. UMC also for the 29th have a vinyl reissue of BILLY PRESTON’s ‘Encouraging Words’ from 1970 on limited vinyl release.

Sony for October 29th have a HANS ZIMMER live album ‘World of Hans Zimmer – A Symphonic Celebration’, on 2CD/BluRay or BluRay. There are vinyl reissues of WHITNEY HOUSTON’s ‘Greatest Hits’ and DAVE GAHAN’s ‘Paper Monsters’

Integral for October 29th have releases from KHRUANGBINALABAMA SHAKESMARISSA NADLERNIGHTMARES ON WAX, and a new SOUL JAZZ compilation.

The Orchard for the 29th of October have the release of the new BILLY BRAGG album ‘The Million Things That Never Happened’ on CD only for now, Vinyl formats pushed back to December 10th now. Rubyworks via The Orchard also have a 2CD/DVD reissue of RODRIGO Y GABRIELA’s ‘FOC / RE-FOC’ as a Hardback Book Set. This was originally released via mail order only and sold out gigs, and is the duos first collection of songs originally from 2002.

Proper for October 29th have a reissue of WORLD PARTY’s second album ‘Goodbye Jumbo’ on vinyl, and also two Porcupine Tree reissues, ‘Signify’ and ‘Stupid Dream’, both 2LP reissues on 140Gram Vinyl with a Gatefold Sleeve.

Right so, time for some down the line announcements.
Kicking us off on this front this week is the announcement of the second studio album from BLACK COUNTRY, NEW ROAD, entitled ‘Ants From Up Here’. The debut is a firm shop favourite over the last 12 months, a cracking listen start to finish, so we’re looking forward to this landing in February. A good few formats on this one, and all the vinyl are allocated folks, so fastest fingers first, especially the vinyl formats. The two most limited formats are lovely. There is a 2LP Blue Marbled SIGNED Exclusive vinyl pressing, we are getting very very little of these so safest bet is to buy from site. An email could be missed and not seen until later tonight / early tomorrow and could be sold out by the time we see it. So if interested site is safest bet. There is also a lovely 4LP Vinyl Set with a bonus live album which the stock is tight on, so again site is safest best. The other formats include CDDeluxe 2CD with live CD bonus, standard 2LP Vinyl and the Indies Exclusive Blue Vinyl.

Dublin’s SILVERBACKS are back in January 2022 with their second studio output ‘Archive Material’, coming on The Orchard via Full Time Hobby on CD or Limited Blue Vinyl. Their first album ‘Fad’ was a great listen. Fine punk, alternative rock from our little island. Check out the new album titled lead single here :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMSsnDWcJIQ

We will have a lovely MOGWAI ‘EPX3’ coloured vinyl 3LP set due in to us for release in late November up on the site now. It’s a vinyl reissue of their 3 EPs from the 1990s, reissued on vinyl for the first time. We have been given allocations again here, so when they’re gone they’re gone. Fastest fingers first is the safest again.

There is a 9LP Vinyl Box Set release from BILLY JOEL, ‘The Vinyl Collection Vol.1’. It contains all of Joel’s albums from the 1970s, including Cold Spring Harbor, Piano Man, Streetlife Serenade, Turnstiles, The Stranger, 52nd Street, and also Songs in the Attic, a live release from 1981. This is coming via Sony on November 5th.

Another nice announcement for early 2022 (which is shaping up to be strong on the release front) is the 14th studio album release from EELS. The album entitled ‘Extreme Witchcraft’ is out January 28th on the bands own E-Works label with PIAS. The album is produced with John Parish, marking the first time he has worked with Eels since 2001’s classic ‘Souljacker’ LP. It is coming on CD or as a Opaque Transparent Yellow Vinyl pressing. Again allocations given on the vinyl of this, when it’s gone it’s gone.

Right so, Integral for November 5th up next to finish off for today, and a few nice bits out. Integral’s big release for the week (and arguably the biggest overall) comes with the release of RADIOHEAD’s ‘KID A MNESIA’ via XL Recordings. It features the two classic albums ‘Kid A’ and ‘Amnesia’, as well as a new bonus material album ‘Kid Amnesiae’, featuring unearthed material from the recording sessions of both albums. The red 3LP format is fully sold out i’m afraid, but we do have the 3CD and standard black 3LP Vinyl left.

Integral also have a new A CERTAIN RATIO new remix 2LP on limited sparkle vinyl, with a bonus 12′‘ coming via Mute for November 5th. INVADA Records have the next in the series of CLINT MANSELL soundtrack releases, this time up with ‘In The Earth (Original Music)’ on vinyl, the film came out early 2021. There is a splatter coloured vinyl reissue of FELA KUTI’s ‘London Scene’ LP. PIAS have a new release from JOAN AS POLICE WOMAN, TONY ALLEN & DAVE OKUMU entitled ‘The Solution Is Restless’. The legendary Tony Allen was Fela Kuti’s drummer in the 70’s, and recorded this album shortly before passing away in 2020. It also features Damon Albarn on a track, who introduced Joan to Allen in 2019. Check out Take Me To Your Leader below, really enjoying this track
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgJDMvqRQAg

MR. BUNGLE have a live stream album release from October 2020, ‘The Night They Came Home’ on Indies Orange Vinyl. ROSS FROM FRIENDS has a new studio album ‘Tread’ out via Brainfeeder on CD or Indies LP. ‘Valentine’ the sophomore album from SNAIL MAIL lands on November 5th via Matador on CD or Indies Gold Vinyl, and finally Integral also have a host of STEVE EARLE coloured reissues out also on Nov 5th.

That’s it for this week folks,
Thanks as always!

The EP was released between debut and second albums.. I have emailed trying to get numbers on the Slayers…

Republic of Music for the 22nd of October have the brand new and 4th studio album by GLASVEGAS called ‘Godspeed’ on indies green vinyl.. It seems like a vinyl release only.. Madness in my opinion.. Why alienate physical CD buyers?? If it costs a label €2 to send a CD to a shop it costs them a lot.. Do a run of 500 CDs anyway.. Probably make 3k profit on 500 CDs.. So it alienates and makes no business sense Either.. I could be wrong and the maybe the CD is out further down the line.. I don’t get it if there is none produced though.. Same thing with a download code.. They seem to be becoming less and less.. More madness. It should be given if you buy a vinyl record… Give the bloody code… The LPs are dear enough.. The amount of folk who walk away form the vinyl because here is no code is a 3/4 people a week.. Listen to the frontline.. Codes are important.. More and more we need to see, not less and less.. Again it does not make sense to me.. Some of the 3/4 a week will buy CD.. Others will just leave it altogether… No good for us or for the record company..

ROM also have THE STOOGES ‘Live At Whiskey A Gogo‘ and PINK FLOYD in Jazz tribute album..

Integral for the 22nd of Oct have a 7” by IDLES, as well as brand new albums by MY MORNING JACKET and PARQUET COURTS..

There are 7 bonus tracks.. CD or Coloured vinyl on this one.. Dead Oceans release KHRUANGBIN ‘Mordechai Remixes’.. We all love the studio album here in the shop so looking forward to this one.. Bella Union have the new MARISSA NADLER album ‘The Path Of The Clouds’ on CD, or 180GM White Vinyl with download code.. Yipee for Bella Union.. All together now.. Hip hip.. Hip hip… And there is a nice special version for indie shops.. 180gm silver and white vinyl, with a 12 x 12” print and the code! Here is ‘If I Could Breathe Underwater’ from the new album
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4WYnSSw34w&ab_channel=MarissaNadlerMusic

Warp have a brand new album by NIGHTMARES ON WAX for the 29th.. It’s on CD, standard vinyl and indies only blue vinyl… Here is ‘Own Me’
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIswBvJv0wQ
I’m gonna mention it in future when I see a code with it so there is a cod with the N.O.W. album also.. There is a nice Act Jazz Compilation on CD also.. Nice list of great artists.. The Spirit of Jazz is the title.. Lastly from Integral, Soul Jazz Records Presents : CUBA – Music and Revolution : Culture Clash in Havana Experiments In Latin Music 1975-1985 Vol. 2.. Compiled by Gilles Peterson and Stuart Baker.. It is on 2CD or 3LPs..

I’ll hand you over to the Bob Man now who will run through up and coming releases

Hey folks,
Quieter from me this week, I’d say the week of OOct 22nd / Oct 29th which are linked for the site this week are the busiest of the year (definitely the busiest so far for the year anyway, we’ll see how November shapes up!), which eats into time at getting down the road releases programmed. A nice one none the less is the new PAUL WELLER release coming via Universal for December 3rd. It is ‘Paul Weller with Jules Buckley & the BBC Symphony Orchestra – An Orchestrated Songbook’, a live concert from Weller captured in May 2021, performing hits from The Jam, The Style Council and solo material with a full orchestra. No vinyl yet on this but it lands in December on standard CD or as a deluxe CD house in a hardback book.

Quick note also on THE WAR ON DRUGS new record ‘I Don’t Live Here Anymore‘. There has been another vinyl added, with a nice red exclusive vinyl landing now with a few of the indie shops in the country. So now there is CDStandard Black Vinyl, Indies Blue Vinyl or this new Exclusive Red Vinyl. All formats enter you into the competition to win a pair of tickets to the April 2022 show in the 3Arena in Dublin

Here is ‘Arcadia’ from the album
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mECX60FVJQ&ab_channel=LanaDelReyVEVO

Uni also have the OST to ‘The French Despatch’ movie and JARVIS COCKER ‘Chansons d’Ennui Tip Top’ which is a new album and a nod, tip of his hat to French pop music..

https://youtu.be/paglY215eZI

Hope to have the Maiden tees this week so will do another ‘live’ draw for them this week… Hays the excitement.. I can hardly bare it… Speaking of Mick / Susan… People really love the record.. Mick is selling to people who never bought / got Mick before (what do be wrong with ye like!!) and Susan’s talent has reached a fine audience.. They are getting a great reaction on the American tour.. Phoebe Bridgers loves the pair of them.. The stars seems to be aligned on this record.. Both voices are only beautiful to be fair.. Great stuff it is…

Right, sidetracked I was.. Sorry.. Releases for the 8th of October include new releases by BILLY BRAGG, SAM FENDERJAMES BLAKEBADBADNOTGOODJOHN COLTRANE, DMAS, EFTERKLANGTRIVIUM (CD only for now)NOAH GUNDERSEN (CD only for now) .. Right so moving on to releases for the 15th of October (National Album Day, which showcases some unreal talented female musicians this year)… So for NAD, WEA have releases by EVA CASSIDY ‘Live At Blues Alley’ on CD or LP... Her only solo album released while she was alive.. It was recorded in 1996 on the 3rd of Jan.. Her aunt helped our out with the cost of getting it recorded as she hadn’t a bean… Her purpose with the recording was to allow her the chance to sell a CD at her shows after.. It is an exquisite recording… Went far too early did Eva… BMG have a coloured vinyl version of KATIE MELUA’s ‘Ultimate Collection.. Warner have a coloured vinyl version of KYLIE’s ‘Fever’LYKKE LI’s ‘Wound Rhymes’ reissue, OMARA PORTUONDO self titled coloured reissue also with help from all her friends in the Buena Vista Social Club.. All these releases are through Warner for NAD…

Warner, separate from the NAD releases have the brand new album from COLDPLAY ‘Music Of The Spheres’ on CD and LP (price is good on this one when you consider ‘big artists’ release pricing of late… Anything 30 quid or under is a good buy nowadays).. PLG UK putting this out..

Rhino Atlantic have the 50th Anniversary edition of DAVID CROSBY’s solo debut album ‘If I Could Only Remember My Name’ as a 2CD or LP... Loads of class musicians play on the record… There is a new JOHNNY MARR E.P on BMG called ‘Fever Dreams Pt. 1’.. BMG also have a new SANATANA album on CD only for now, PARAMORE ‘All We Know Is Falling’ coloured vinyl reissue and lastly a fancy coloured vinyl reissue of TWENTY ONE PILOT’s ‘Blurryface’ on 2LP Limited Coloured vinyl through Fuelled By Ramen / Atlantic..

Few bits of housekeeping.. Richmond Fontaine’s ‘Freeway’ RSD 2021 vinyl landed in but Raymond deleted the list of people’s wish lists / who had asked for a copy… So if you want a copy.. Pop us an email.. Only have 3 copies now..

Anyone know someone hand who fixes hi-fi?? A sound head now like.. Local enough be better..

Last one, Shane here has 2 tickets for JAMES in the 3Arena in dec and he can’t go so face value €100 for the 2 if anyone is interested.. Sin sin.. Well i’d like to wish a happy birthday to Tommy T.C as allegedly he likes a lot of attention.. It’s like the Larry Gogan show today..

Anyway, The Orchard for the 15th of October have the second studio album by DAVID KEENAN ‘What Then?’ on CD and LP via Rubyworks… Here is ‘Philomena’ from the new record.. Very interesting artist..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_uLRNkIT7g

Orchard also have the next 2 volumes of LUCINDA WILLIAMS ‘Lu’s Jukebox Series’ with the release of Volume 3 and Volume 4 on the 15th of Oct… 3 is ‘Bob’s Back Pages : A Night Of Bob Dylan Songs’ and Vol. 4 is ‘A Night Of 60s Country Classics’.. Both on CD and LP..

Nevermind me for now, i’m going to hand ye over to the real Boss who has some lovely announcements made over the last week to help the easing opening of da aul wallets..

Hey folks,
Hope you are all keeping safe and well.
Kicking us off this week is a big 30th Anniversary announcement. Last week saw the anniversary of NIRVANA’s stone-cold classic ‘Nevermind’, which is getting reissued on a nice few formats. There is a 2CD (including album remastered and a bonus live CD), a Vinyl & Bonus 7” reissue, a deluxe 5CD/BluRay set which has the album remastered, 4 full live concerts and the BluRay footage of the remastered Amsterdam gig. All these formats are due out in November, and there finally is a savage 8LP super deluxe boxset which also features the remastered album and 4 complete live shows, but this one isn’t due out now until 2022.

Busy week this week, as also just announced to us today is the release of the next in the series of DAVID BOWIE box sets. ‘Brilliant Adventure (1992-2001)’ is due for release on November 26th, the fifth release in the Bowie career spanning box sets. This set captures a more experimental time for Bowie, and will contain albums Black Tie White Noise, ‘The Buddha Of Suburbia (first time on vinyl in nearly 30 years), ‘1.Outside’, ‘Earthling’, ‘hours’, as well as the expanded live album from BBC Radio Theatre, London 2000, the non-album / alternative version / b-sides compilation ‘Re:Call 5’, and legendary unreleased 2001 album ‘TOY’. As normal, this is coming as a 11CD Box Set, or as a 18LP Vinyl Box.

Following from this but staying with Bowie releases. Parlophone are also releases a standalone, expanded version of ‘TOY: Box’ in January 2022. This expanded edition will feature the unreleased album, bonus alternative versions and alternative mixes, proposed B-Sides, and an ‘Unplugged & Somewhat Slightly Electric’ mixes of thirteen TOY tracks. This set will be released as a 3CD or a 6 X 10” Vinyl Box Set.

Sony has the release of BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN & THE E STREET BAND’s ‘Legendary 1979 No Nukes Concerts’, coming as a 2LP Vinyl, CD/DVD or CD/BluRay on November 19th. The two classic performances have been compiled into a 90-minute show which was recorded as the Boss was recording ‘The River’, with the footage being edited from the original 16mm concert film. A rarely filmed era for Bruce, meant to be a cracker of a gig.

Last couple from mise for today, IDLES have announced a brand new studio album ‘Crawler’ due for release also in November. This is coming as a CDEco Mix Vinyl (all unique pressings varying in colour from one copy to the next), and a deluxe, DLP 45RPM format of the vinyl. There is also a standard vinyl pressing but this won’t be released until January 2022. Heavenly Recordings have a lovely 10th Anniversary reissue of ‘100 Acres Of Sycamore’ by Bray’s own FIONN REGAN. First timer on 180gm vinyl for this one, and unfortunately we are only getting a handful of copies so it’ll be fastest fingers first here folks, sorry. Lastly, WHITE LIES have announced their new studio album is due in February 2022, entitled ‘As I Try Not To Fall Apart’, being released on CDVinyl or Indies Only Coloured Vinyl.

Radiohead’s ‘Kid A Mnesia’, New Lana Del Rey And Mastodon, And A Signed Mick Flannery & Susan O’Neill Test Pressing Give Away!

Hi Everyone

Hope all is well enough.
I was off the grid for the last while as we had a family bereavement, so I’d like to thank Bob and Shane for having my back once again… They know it would be reciprocated.

Yep Gina lost her dad, (devastating loss), my father in law, my old pal… We used to go for a drink 50 out of 52 Sunday nights a year i’d say if not 52 out of 52! For 15 or 16 years… Hundreds and hundreds of small nights out… Thousands of laughs… I could write a book…. Ahh he is an awful sore loss and will be… Liam was a fierce important person in my life and sher they dont grow on trees but no better man to tell you to face the puck out so face it, it is.

Again the lads have been gentlemen… Thanks.

Right so, apologies for a few bits I may have missed over the last week, i’m back at it now so will do my best to catch up.

I think we will still have to pick winners from a hat for the IRON MAIDEN tee shirt competition.. Not sure if the tees landed yet though Bob.? (They haven’t yet!)

Myself, Bobby and Shane will be in the shop a lot over the next 3 weeks… Open 10-6 everyday, but 12-6 on Sundays until Christmas anyway… May knock off about 4 on Christmas Eve…

It has been a tricky 15/16 months.. Ferocious changes in a short period in a short period… I don’t think I have ever worked harder than in that period, and I think the 2 lads would tell you they haven’t either i’d say… I’m haunted to have had them throughout this.. Constant upheaval, goalposts changing all the time.. Every small business i’m sure will tell you the same… And we were one of the lucky ones, having a website allowed us to function to a good level especially recently in lockdown 2… Also folks are definitely trying to support Irish businesses which is a great thing and hopefully will last.. We would like to think we give a good service.. Well we definitely try our best anyway… Sometimes we make a mistake and drop a ball but we always try to fix it where possible… Pressing plants are really creaking this year so out of stocks are a problem.. There is a lovely 4LP expanded vinyl box set release of TAME IMPALA’s excellent debut album ‘Innerspeaker’, released for the 10th Anniversary of the album. What a band. Bob Dylan’s Here On Vinyl Next Week, A Few More Biggies Announced, And Another Cracking Tune From Fontaines D.C.

Hi everyone,
Hope everyone is keeping well.. I forgot toe mention the RSD thing last week… I will be placing my orders over the next week so if any wish lists… Fire it over.. So it’s time for this week’s ad… Releases hitting the shop floor this Friday the 10th of July are new albums by LAURA MARLINGTHE STREETSMARGO PRICETHE JAYHAWKSGLASS ANIMALS, PRVIS, THE DMA’S, and RUFUS WAINWRIGHT… Reissues also out by REO SPEEDWAGON and THE GRATEFUL DEAD…. Not a bad week release wise, the summer is normally very quiet on the release front but this year has probably been the most bizarre year most of us have seen.. Full summer release schedule…

Shop is open now Monday to Saturday.. So just closed on Sundays.. It should be on a platforms folks… ‘Platforms’… That’s the word for it isn’t it?? ‘Platforms’…

Bob’s here on vinyl next week, on Friday the 17th of July.. Great demand for the record.. Great to report that demand also.. Indies only olive green vinyl (just 7k of these).. Ye might think i’m like the boy that cried wolf.. But passing on the information.. 7k of the indies one pressed.. 300 copies of the Prince ‘Sign O The Times’ peach vinyl coming into Ireland.. Less of the sets.. And Sufjan indies vinyl is sold out 3 months before release… Dylan’s Dylan like, end of story.. Have not immersed myself in it yet.. I’m hearing great things from the folks who say they are not normally into Dylan, but the fans / diehards are quieter about the record.. Each for our own judgement I suppose… ‘Murder Most Foul’ is class in my opinion…

Sony for the 17th aside from the Dylan vinyl release have the new DIXIE CHICKS album and DEPECHE MODE’s ‘Violator’ 12” Singles Boxset.. FIONA APPLE’s ‘Fetch The Bolt Cutters’ is moved to July 24th now..

Warner for the 17th of July have the beautiful reissue / 40th Anniversary Remastered also of JOY DIVISION’s ‘Closer’ album on Crystal Clear vinyl.. As well as that Warner are reissuing 3 classic 12” singles, ‘Transmission‘, ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’, and ‘Atmosphere‘. Only 1k of each of the singles…

Warner also have a new album from PRETENDERS ‘Hate For Sale’ on CD or LP as well as LIANNA LA HAVAS’ new album also.. We have a few indies only coloured vinyl due in…

PIAS have the new albums by PROTOMARTYR and JARV IS out on the 17th of July…

Cargo have the debut record by Dublin 5-piece SILVERBACKS… I like this… Also out on the 17th of July..

Uni for the 17th have the ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS soundtrackELLIE GOULDING’s new album, new SAMANTHA CRAINthe QUEEN big coloured vinyl boxa FALL OUT BOY ‘Best Of’, and MARVIN GAYE vinyl reissues…

One I forgot and meant to mention last week is the LLOYD COLE AND THE COMMOTIONS ‘Collected Recordings 1983-1989 6LP Vinyl Boxset with a book, limited to 1000 copies worldwide.. Lloyd wrote a nice few words about the release… Here tis… €190 is out best price

In 2014 Universal Music Group approached me with the idea of producing a ‘Complete Lloyd Cole and the Commotions’ box set. It was eventually released in 2015, in CD format only. I asked, I strongly suggested that a vinyl version be released but UMG were not interested. Enter Tapete Records. It’s taken a while, but it’s here.

6 LPs and a book, in a box.

All three studio albums are included, all three are re-mastered, Abbey Road studios creating the masters for UMG, and Skyline Tonfabrik fine tuning for vinyl. Many thanks to Kai Blankenberg for his patience. It took a while for me to be satisfied, but I’m very happy now. We did very little to Mainstream other than adjust level. Bob Ludwig’s original work was near perfect and still sounds great almost 30 years later. The original ½” mixdowns of Easy Pieces could not be used as the tape had disintegrated and baking, etc could not save it. We worked from the ¼” back up (made the same day as the ½” for  this very reason) and to my ears the album is significantly improved. The big news, to my ears, is Rattlesnakes. We were able to use the original ½” tapes and upon hearing a ‘flat transfer’ I was shocked at how far we had strayed from the original recordings over the years. I sent the files to the band to listen to to be sure I wasn’t imagining things. Is this as great as I think it is? They agreed. We decided to make the new version as close as possible to the original tapes. I hope you enjoy it.

The first bonus LP is all our collected b-sides, no live recordings or re-mixes.
LP 5 is demo recordings, many of which had never been heard, outside of our circle, until 2015.
The final LP is rarities, from the unreleased 1983 single Down At The Mission, the 1985 Paul Hardiman recordings, the live cover versions from our 1986 New York show, the 1986 Paris recordings with Chris Thomas, and one re-mix – our own extended version of My Bag, which we all pretty much agreed was the only decent dance mix we ever made. Pretty much everything we recorded which wasn’t a complete disaster is here.

The book contains an extensive essay by Pete Paphides, who spent way more time and wrote many more words than was originally the plan. He spoke to all the protagonists. It’s a lovely story, if a little sad, at times.

Also some ‘biggies’ announced in the last week from the EAGLES ‘Live From The Forum MMXVIII’ on 4LP2CD2CD/DVD or 2CD/BluRaylocal band DAGENHAM YANKS have a new album on vinyl out, NUN ATTAX / FIVE GO DOWN TO THE SEA? / BEETHOVEN Record with CD and Fanzine in the shop now.. It’s a great product.. MY MORNING JACKET have a new album announced on Limited Clear LPIndies Only Deluxe Coloured LP, or CD, and RICK WAKEMAN announced a new album ‘The Red Planet’...

And we lost the great ENNIO, the best in his field in my opinion.. Incredible talent and ear.. Unbelievable.. Never saw him and probably could have in recent years but didn’t move on it and it’s a regret…

Releases for the 24th of July we have the excellent MICK FLANNERY live album ‘Alive : Cork Opera House 2019’ oc CD or Double Vinyl.. Proceeds going to help Mick’s crew and band, during for them, more than most of us, an never ending quest to try to return to work.. We have the gorgeous signed test pressing up for raffle for one lucky purchaser of the aforementioned record (CD or LP), and we may even have more exciting news with Mick Flannery very soon.. Will keep ye posted…

Sorry I forgot a nice one for the 17th of July… ‘Dion and Friends’ gets it’s vinyl release.. Actually the album is called ‘Blues With Friends’, where Dion duets with some list of friends.. Bruce, Paul Simon, Bonamassa, Jeff Beck, Van The Man to name just a few of the medium hitters there…

Universal for the 24th of July have the one press only Picture Disc vinyl of iconic million / zillion selling BOB MARLEY compilation ‘Legend’... Looks sweet…

Universal for July 24th  also has the PJ HARVEY ‘Dry Demos’ on 180gm vinyl with Download… NOW 106 is out on the 24th, DIANA ROSS ‘Supertonic : The Remixes’ is out on CD and coloured vinyl, new remixes of 9 classic tracks, and lastly for the 24th Universal have a new album by ROGER O’ DONNELL (Keys player with the Cure)

PIAS for the 24th has the PJ HARVEY ‘Dry’ reissue, first time it’s out on vinyl in 20 years.. Fine debut… The original label Too Pure are putting out the reissue as well, whereas UMC have the demos release.. Don’t ask me to try to explain the ‘murky’ world of record deals.. PIAS for the 24th also have new albums by KAMAAL WILLIAMS (indies only available on vinyl) and also SHIRLEY COLLINS.. Indies only as well..

Warner for the 24th sees the release of SEASICK STEVE’s new album ‘Love and Peace’ again on indies only coloured vinyl available.. Warner also have a new albums by PRIMAL FEAR and BRANDY CLARK

Proper for the 24th of July have a new album by THE NAKED AND FAMOUS…

The Orchard for the 24th of July have the new album by COURTNEY MARIE ANDREWS on Loose Records… It’s called ‘Old Flowers’ and it’s on CD or LP… The Orchard also have a new album by LORI MCKENNA…

Music on Vinyl for the 24th of July have TIN MACHINE 2 coloured vinyl and CD, NINA SIMONE ‘And Piano’, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY ‘Wiseblood’, INCUBUS ‘Make Yourself’, SLOWDIVE ‘Just For A Day’, G3 ‘Live In Tokyo’ also so a nice few due… I think a lot will be the limited coloured ones…

Right so, the 31st of July sees the new FONTAINES D.C. Record ‘A Hero’s Death‘… Deluxe Gatefold Double LP on 45RPM 180gm vinyl cut at Abbey Road with a 12” by 12” photo / lyric book.. Also available on Stormy Blue vinyl with a printed inner sleeve, standard black vinyl with a printed inner sleeve, or as a two pocket wallet CD… I love the new tune to be honest… Cracking tune altogether.. Really excited and thrilled to have a signed pressing of the record for one of ye lucky folks as well as gorgeous signed prints for some runners up.. Get on the album on some format.. Get into the competition / raffle… Probably the nicest / most sought after price we have ever had…

Sin é for this week really folks..
Thanks for listening,
Ray, Shane and Bobby

Weds has always been wholesaling day for me for over 10 years now …to cut a long story short…i sell kids dvds and a few cds on floor spinners in a few shops around the county ( i do it on a weds only) ..i started it in 2009 when things were really starting to go shite and it probably helped keep us open in 10, 11 and 12 before things started to settle…its less and less now but I still need to get out for 3 or 4 hours every weds so that’s the craic with weds …i’m not polishing my yachts!

So i hope that’s cool…if anyone wants me to hang around on a friday evening, thats cool also just give me an auld email and we can sort it out.

The XX Return In Mighty Fashion, U2 For The Pairc??????, And The Top 10 of 2016 (Voted By You!)

Hey everyone,

Hope ye all are well and had a good week.

Quite a bit happened I suppose in the last week with U2 announcing Croke Park and the Choice Music Prize nominations.

Pairc Ui Chaoimh next for the U2 boys on their Joshua Tree tour….???

The Joshua Tree concept seems to have really hit a nerve…. Savage interest in it on the shop floor all week….. Tempted myself i must say.

The rep tells me there’s another gig to be announced lunchtime Monday but it looks like Dublin again but is there a third night somewhere else.. I wonder…. No pressure builders to get the Pairc done…. Be nice wouldn’t it…. I grew up with U2 and will always have huge time for them.

I have a tip for tickets which people generally overlook in Cork… I’m giving away a state secret here now, so some of you may want to shoot me… Again this week… Pro Musica on Oliver Plunkett Street has been a Ticketmaster outlet for about 30 years i’d say….. 8.15 monday morning, hot cup of tea…. 45 minute wait.. I think you’ll get two U2 tickets…. Think i said…. Sorry to those whose secret i’ve spoiled…. Maybe it wasn’t a secret at all… It’s not now anyway!!

Couple of nice ones in the shop for today including THE XX (STANDARD or DELUXETHE FLAMING LIPS and Brazilian metallers SEPULTURA..

As usual you  can check out the video this week, a nice little story in this week’s one for you as well..

THE XX and THE FLAMING LIPS are two nice listens from what I heard yesterday and today… Could be wrong (didn’t read the sleeve notes) but I think there is a voice over on the Lips album by Darth Vader.

UNIVERSAL

On so to releases for the 20th of jan… We will get back to the choice nominations a little later on…. First up this week is the reissues of the first two PAUL WELLER solo albums… The self titled debut and “Wildwood”…. Pity folks about the pricing… A new level again really…only a single LP with a poster i think some colour stickers and the lyrics…. But it will be on the shelf at 38 euro… Same or worse everywhere else I think.. I asked why it was so expensive but I did not get a reply… I don’t know why it’s so dear… Pity two nice ones and all.

Universal also have a reworking of the third MIKE OLDFIELD album “Ommadawn” aptly called “Return to Ommadawn”.

Ommadawn,  was released in 1975, and remains one of his favourite of all his releases. Connecting with his Irish roots, the original 40-minute suite has long been much-loved by his fans.

From his studio in the Bahamas, Mike has crafted two suites of music that incorporate the past and the present, recording with acoustic, analogue and faithful reproductions of 1970s instruments all together in sweet harmony. For the first time in many years, Mike has hand-played every instrument (22 in total) on the recording himself, and in a nod to its 42-year old predecessor, crafted new vocal sounds and effects from the original Ommadawn. With its fabulous fantasy gatefold illustration by Rupert Lloyd-Smee, who designed the sleeve for Mike’s critically-acclaimed The 1984 Suite, for an artist truly synonymous with progressive rock, it all marks a return home. A Return To Ommadawn. FORMATS: HALF-SPEED MASTERED BY MILES SHOWELL AT ABBEY ROAD. 180GM HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL. GATEFOLD SLEEVE. 24”x 24” POSTER • CD/DVD SET: DVD INCLUDES EXCLUSIVE MIKE OLDFIELD 5.1 MIX; FOLD-OUT SLEEVE, 12 PAGE BOOKLET• CD: JEWEL CASE: 12 PAGE BOOKLET.

UNIVERSAL have quite a few more reissues on LP for next week, also including the brilliant PORTISHEAD with the self titled album from 1997 and the reforming album “THIRD” from 2008…

Image result for Portishead Portishead

A couple also from DUSTY SPRINGFIELD including “In Memphis” and “The Silver Collection” compilation.

Uni also have the GARY MOORE reissue of “Wild Frontier” on LP, and the LP release of the score from “ASSASSINS CREED” done by Jed Kurzel… Brother of the director i’m told, and they have a new album by metallers A.F.I, and a live MARILLON album called “Marbles In The Park”.

PROPER

Proper Music have the reissue and limited, deluxe and numbered edition of T- REX “The Slider”…. Coloured as well actually… Silver and red.. They also have the new record by ALEJANDRO ESCOVEDO “Burn Something Beautiful”… Great star studded band with him…. Produced by Peter Buck.

Quick little story… You will only find this funny if you listen to this song first.. Well the first twenty seconds is all you need to hear…… I thought this story was a beaut, hence i’m sharing it….

I was playing Swoon in the shop during the week….. Random choice i know….. Great pop record I think, you might agree, when a regular lad came in….. ‘Ah christ i loved that album’ he said…. ‘I used play it and play it…on tape’ (tape was the tipple of choice at the time), ‘great album’ he said and then he told me how he walked into his bedroom to find his two and a half year old son with the tape wrapped around himself, ala DANIEL DAY LEWIS In The Name Of The Father (I added that for effect)… My man wasn’t too happy and gave a small giving out….  You can’t do that type of thing, to which the two and a half year old replied… .’NO MORE Bo Bee…No More Bo Bee’…..

No more Bowie (separate to above) … It’s still hard to believe really…. I think we all probably played some Bowie in the last week or watched some Bowie TV…. My five year old asked me to play Starman again last sunday morning as Ziggy was on the record player… Ah the wheel will turn forever there my friends.

SONY

Sony for the 20th have EURYTHIMICS ‘Greatest Hits’ LP reissue.. MEAT LOAF ‘Bat Out OF Hell’ reissue on LP, and the new album by FIREWIND ( GUS G’s band… Gus was OZZY’s guitarist in recent years), as well as some FIREWIND reissues…

ESSENTIAL have the new RUN THE JEWELS record out next Friday also… ‘3’ it’s called and on CD and DLP….

WARNER

Warner have the second and last pressing im told of the KATE BUSH  “Before The Dawn” 4 LP set…. Out next friday also the 20th..

Warner also have some cracking reissues… Good, young folk reading this ramble.. Ye would not go far wrong with these next few reissues if you like, rock, punk, alternative rock… First up is the masterpiece by THE STOOGES “FUNHOUSE”, and to entice ye even more it’s on limited Orange and black vinyl and it’s 20 bucks… not far wrong at all…. Also there are some reissues by a really underrated band called THE REPLACEMENTS from America in the late 70s…. Alternative rock, punk band… Great songs…. “Tim” is a fine album.

WARNER also have a Picture Disc 50th Anniversary of THE GRATEFUL DEAD’s debut .

PIAS

Pias have MICK HARVEY “Intoxicated Woman”, the next in his series of SERGE GAINSBOURG songs, a NIGHTWISH live 2CD from Wacken and lastly a VISAGE compilation called “WILD LIFE”…

Moving back to the Choice Nominations and every single person will have their own opinions…. I’m saying it a long time… It’s a game of opinions… One mans meat yada yada yada….

We would know 7 of the ten albums reasonably well to very well and we could not fault their inclusion… Fine records… Great to see WALLIS and ALL TVVINS  on it.. Both friends of the siopa… Fully deserved as well (WALLIS is  upstairs in the OLIVER PLUNKETT Friday Jan  27th)….. There is lots of fine music being made on these shores and it is a really positive note in my opinion that RTE, the state broadcaster has got involved…. Maybe it can move to a live TV show for a couple of hours next year to showcase the talent.. Live on radio this year with a one hour highlights show a week later on TV…. So that is a great step…. Forgive me while I put my blood and bandage hat on for a few minutes and gush about THE FRANKS (fine album…My top five of year…) JACK O’ ROURKE, BRIAN DEADY and MICK FLANNERY’s albums which would not have been at all out of place on that list…. All of them ! (Lucky im not a judge!!) …. But every lad or lady in every county probably would have their own lists… Four really fine albums though in my opinion…. The Franks are an institution…. Deady and O’ Rourke are two talented dudes where hopefully the sky is the limit…. And Mick…  Sure Mick is Mick… In my opinion one of the most talented singer-songwriters this country has ever produced and five albums in, and to my knowledge no nomination…. Consistent, high quality stuff …… I’m sure it doesn’t require it, but Mick wouldn’t want or know how to kiss any bums……. Anyway all in all the Choice are a great thing…. More exposure please for our talent.

And sticking with brilliant Irish talent, we have now uploaded the brilliant DECLAN O’ ROURKE in-store to our website video page.. What a day in the shop that was, Declan played his hits from ‘In Full Colour’ with a string quartet, and a huge crowd of ye made it a very special day… Check it out!

We hope to have THE RIPTIDE MOVEMENT In-Store uploaded for next week for you all, which should be in the newsletter again!

Sin e for this week from me…

BLACKSTARS, CHOICE NOMINEES AND OLD FOLKS HOMES

There is a black star on the horizon from the star man,  choice nominees and talks of old folks homes

Hi Everyone,

Happy new year and all that Jazz….
Hope all went well and that all is good.
Traditionally a quiet enough time  except for ARCTIC MONKEYS debut release in 2006 and the boy wonder with his birthday release 3 years ago now.

youngbowbowmanbowieee

Image result for david bowie blackstar vinyl

And the birthday boy wonder BOWIE is back with a new record again…album of the year i’d say no doubt about it…..so far this year anyway.
Only playing lads, ( the Bowiehead lads i am referring to ) i really likeBLACKSTAR  , the jazz influence easy to hear, avant garde style, vocally very good for a fella 80 next year, ( another jab lads, getting closer yerselfs now sure)
The lead single is an absolute cracker in my opinion a wonderful piece of music that improves listen after listen…needs a few of those listens though, and i have listened 6 or 7 times to the album in the shop and it’s starting to resonate with me, thats a great song, jays thats a great song as well type of thing….very impressed i must say.

villagerses

Moving on from the birthday boy so, the new VILLAGERS record is out tomorrow also….well not exactly a new record, reworkings of songs from the first three records, recrafted and sounding succulent, talented boy is our own Mr. O Brien….available via Domino on CD and for a short time only limited green Vinyl record….its a lovely listen.

Also in the shop are HATEFUL8 OST, some SPOCKS BEARD , the vinyl record release of the new JUSTIN BIEBER album and the newestELVIS release is back in on Vinyl.

The Corporation ( my address to you shareholders) had a good enough Christmas…in the positive direction by 2.5 % fuelled largely by the aul Vinyl record….vinyl up about 40% in 2015 against 2014…DVD still in a lot of decline….the two of them nearly balancing each other out…shop for the year was a mirror of the Christmas…2% increase….look, happy days….shit load more work than the good times , the bertie bowl era, our great leader of the past….but hey right direction…take that.

ham sandwich

The Choice music nominees were announced during the week, which as you know are considered to be the ten best Irish records this year…well 2015….list is GIRL BAND, HAM SANDWICH, GAVIN JAMES, JAPE, LE GALAXIE, COLM MAC CON LOMAIRE, ROISIN MURPHY, SOAK, VILLAGERS and YOUNG WONDER.

Strong list to be fair, a couple of notably exceptions in my opinion, THE NORTH SEA and HEDGE SCHOOLS records are excellent in my opinion and never the made the list and locally THE HARD GROUND and JOHN BLEK AND THE RATS must count themselves unlucky also, as must Danny ANDERSON.
The last five i mentioned have one thing in common, they are unsigned, not in bed with a record company, and that’s just the mechanics of the industry, i buy into those mechanics everyday, i have to….i depend on record companies….they will get by fine without me…..but there was never going to be more than two unsigned bands in the 10….thats just the way it is….2 is good in fact i would argue….but i personally would have to question whether the 10 best Irish albums are on display….but hey thats the way it works….

Next week the 15th , there’s is not a huge amount happening…
PIAS have the second album by DAUGHTER on 4AD…
Universal have the SKUNK ANANSIE record ( their sixth now) with one of the best front women around in SKIN and UNI also have the iconic soundtrack for BACK TO THE FUTURE on PICTURE Disc…is it RECORD STORE DAY….( not long now folks!!, what a marketeer)

Here is an interesting piece from BBC RADIO 4 on sound and compression…both sides of the tale given…if you like your sound and have a spare half an hour, this is for you, if not it may bore the liathroidi off you…worth a listen in my opinion….game of opinions as ye know though
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06tvgp1#play

might bring the aul video back all going well….some of ye are lyrically, some visual…

Serious, thanks for all the support over Christmas and all year, please god we will rock on….

sin e for this week,
thanks for listening,
Ray.

How’s it going?

Music Zone Header Logo_edited-1 (3)

Hey everyone,
How’s it going?
Apologies for missing last week…..but was offered a freebie for the Aviva last Thursday night so I went there instead…..prawn sandwiches in me pocket….borne out of luck more than connections….well done aul chap versus DOWCTHA LONGIE BOY….maybe with an expletive….he was out the cross for a while…one of ours.

roy
It will live long in the memory as well to be honest, pity they couldn’t get the job done in Warsaw, but heh that’s sport….did they really deserve 2nd place in the group?…fingers crossed for the qualifiers I suppose.

longy

Some weekend for sport (not the one just gone obviously), those rugby boys were awesome; such a pity there was so many injuries because if everyone was fit till the end of the tournament they could have had a right rattle off it…

I am still having t’internet problems so I am behind schedule a bit but will try and get back on track for next week….
Anyway to the tunes, for tomorrow, no messing here…

Universal for last Friday the 16th have the LOVELY looking PETER GABRIEL LP reissues, the first four solo albums, 1,2,3,4 or CAR, SCRATCH, MELT, SECURITY, whatever tickles your fancy, reissued on Vinyl for the first time since 2002, cut at half speed for greater quality, numbered and limited to 10, 000 worldwide….we got a few of each, our Cork ones numbered in 9,900s….just about got em id say.

petergab
Got a couple of 3 and 4 or melt and security in the rare German language versions also….3,000 only of these globally…MR. Gabriel is in studio recording a new album by all accounts and from what I heard from a few of ye who saw him in Dublin recently he sounds as good as ever.
FRANK ZAPPA the mothers of invention “one size fits all” LP reissue in the shop also for tomorrow….a colourful and interesting artist is probably a good way to describe Zappa….or a bit mad another way….interesting dude to have a pint with id say.
Universal also have for tomorrow the GREGG ALLMAN – back to Macon vinyl release.
Universal also for tomorrow have brand new albums by JOHN NEWMAN, DEMI LOVATO, LUDOVICO EINAUDI and TOM ROBINSON ( first studio work in 20 years) and a couple of 5 CD sets by UB40 and QUO.
Check out LUDOVICO here for just how beautiful music can sound…..

Warner for tomorrow have new albums by SATAN and SAXON (no, not the same band to non metal fans).

metal
Warner also have the RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE live at FINSBURY PARK DVD and BLURAY , which is a free gig they held in honor of the defeating of the X Factor single for the number one spot Christmas 2009…..we at Music Zone towers are giving away an everlasting gobstopper, a bloody red splattered vinyl one, for whoever can tell me which X Factor winner they stopped back then….i normally would not knock anything musically be it Celine Dion or the teletubbies but I have a beef with the industry over X Factor…..it is money pumped in for a quick fix….this programme was in its pomp when record shops were being culled, when an industry showed little or no support for the bricks and mortar stores….i could go on in more detail, some other time maybe.
Anyway, back to the releases,

miles davis

Sony have some nice MILES DAVIS reissues on Vinyl including the classics, KIND OF BLUE, BITCHES BREW and SKETCHES OF SPAIN.
Again, these are no strangers to the shop having being in stock via MUSIC ON VINYL until very recently, now Sony are reissuing them on their COLUMBIA/LEGACY label at about 15 to 20 % cheaper….kind of blue is 20 euro….the right price point for a single LP in my opinion.
Sony has the debut solo album by MARKUS FEEHILY from Westlife and a new studio album from JEAN MICHAEL JARRE.

Pias have the new DEERHUNTER ALBUM …it is their 7th album and a bit more accessible than some of their other records from what I heard.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CG6jk5Q90DA

EP also from AIDAN MOFFAT/BILL WELLS , deluxe version of the EAVES album, 14 CD boxset by OVERKILL and ENTER SHIKARI orange 10” .

We had ANDERSON in the shop last Friday for a few tunes, he gave a top acoustic set of five or 6 tunes and he really had a lovely easygoing way about him….listened to the album quite a bit since and it really is quite good….he promises to be back for RSD 2016, once he doesn’t turn in to bleeeedddiinnn Bono in the meantime….

sin e for this week,

Short and sweet this week……

Music Zone Header Logo_edited-1 (3)

Hey Folks,

Short and sweet this week……

Video from last week here….no one murdered yet…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crqY62X6pZU

I’m a bit cranky to be honest….i send this newsletter from home and the PC I use is about 10 years old and it requires a dongle to operate…( think of me as your grandfather when it comes to techie stuff and that may paint a clearer picture for you)

Before I go on, all these service providers selling us air, as the cute ad doing the rounds at the moment depicts, piss me off anyway.

You are paying for a signal…paying for air is right…and they rob us….phones, telly, internet providers….try cancel your sky or whatever rubbish you have….their policy….keep those CUSTOMERS on the phone forever, they may get frustrated and hang up…charge them CUSTOMERS well for the call also, don’t miss a trick there lads, few pound in that also….then since the product does not cost anything really, offer it to them CUSTOMERS for free for 6 months….but tie them in for 12 months after that….do you know what you can do Sky, go stick it up…..

I don’t know about ye, but all of these crowds looking for contracts for this and contracts for that,  that you then have to jump through hoops to escape from, seriously get on my goat…

So back to same dongle….which I have being using for 5 or 6 years id say….( different dongles, same dingo dongle provider)

Said dongle has not being  working,  as happened to 4 or 5 others in the past, after a period of time it seems to happen to them all….like all the phones… in the phone company engineers handbook, build them not to last is the core value…all for those CUSTOMERS again…

Anyway, went to my local dingo dongle shop where I was told my one was out of warranty?? ( did he think I was buying a state of the art feestiieee from him) and no problem I can buy another one for 30 euro and can then sign up for 20 quid a month for a 12 month contract……gee thanks……i said they had being replaced before in this very shop when they stopped working as had happened 4 or 5 times in the past….he said again its out of warranty….i said laughing I didn’t know it was in warranty…I asked to get internet on a stick, you said yes…20 quid a month…internet on a stick which I asked for no longer works….well hey that’s just tough shit….so I left with my broken dongle and my cranky head in my one man protest ( where they will still take the 20 quid a month from me unless I can score a try in the corner in the rugby world final for Canada)….do your head in…240 euro a year for internet on a stick and they try up sell to you and piss you off when you go in to get a two pence worth replacement….it’s not the dongo I dealt with, it’s the training and culture in all these companies….get get get….Gordon Greco  would love today’s world.

Anyway, after all this….no one will see this because it won’t send probably (although has flitting glimpses of life…bit like ET…ALIVE, DEAD, ALIVE) but cant attach images or tunes….

The music for next week the 9th October is led by the agonizingly sad yet painfully funny JOHN GRANT….one of the most anticipated releases of the year….i for one am really looking forward to hearing it…” grey tickles, black pressure” is out on Bella Union next week via PIAS on CD and double LP.

Pias also have the new record from JESSE MALIN, he was in CYPRESS AVENUE recently and by accounts was really good.

PIAS also have EP’s on Vinyl from MARTIN GORE and THE DECEMBERISTS and the first NEW ORDER single on a green vinyl 12”.

Universal have the vinyl record release of KENDRICK LAMAR’s “to pimp a butterfly” on 2LP….MR. LAMAR seen as the best rapper of his generation  by some….

Universal also have new ones by TOM JONES and SELENA GOMEZ.

Warner has a MASTODON reissue on green vinyl and a re issue / new issue of a JAMIE LAWSON album “wasn’t expecting that”.

I always thought this dude was Irish, we stocked and sold an album of his 3 or 4 or 5 years ago…..i just thought he was from up the country somewhere…..but no, he is English, who had zero success over there but now Jamie is the first signing to ED SHEERAN’s label….gingerbread man records….so relatively unknown Jamie may not be so in the future…other bits like WELLER single, MCR reissue, JOE LOUIS WALKER on the attachment ( that you will not see most likely)

Sony has the new FAITHLESS and the HENDRIX LP reissues for the 9th ….

If you see me with 30 euros in my hand and my dongle between my legs heading into my local dingo dongle shop please do not heckle….i may forward this next week anyway…

Without and,

Thanks

Ray.

Vinyl record releases for the 2nd of October

Music Zone Header Logo_edited-1 (3)

Hey Everyone,

How’s it going?

Firstly here’s the link for last weeks video diary….Bobby is back at the helm for this one.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDFdBx236_I&feature=youtu.be

The production team are discussing plot lines for next week….maybe a murder, an illicit affair with a bit of plastic…something juicy anyway….

This week we tell ye good folks about vinyl record releases for the 2nd of October mainly.

edit

PIAS up first with the new Editors album on the Play it again Sam record label…” in dream” is the bands fifth album and the vinyl record should be gold coloured on the initial run….only 200 of them hitting these shores but will be ok for a few….

Heard a random story from a lad who comes into the Corporation about  bumping into TOM SMITH on the dock road in Limerick and getting him to sign his latest album just released that day….” Tom” “Tom” had he heard his name being called? Who is this fella running towards me…..?

“hey Tom, will you sign this please”…..” ah yeah sure….this isn’t out till Monday, how have you got it?” “….tis out on Friday in Ireland boy was the truthful answer he got…..do I bore with these random stories…do I bore I say.

Editors new track…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEa77Hxkk5A

PIAS also have the new MERCURY REV record and the new CHILDREN OF BODOM album through Nuclear Blast available on four formats, CD, CD/DVD, PICTURE DISC LP, BLACK LP.

PIAS have a 20th anniversary edition of the debut vinyl record and CD from GARBAGE.

Lastly to note from Pias is the vinyl record release from KAMASI WASHINGTON “the epic” .

kamasi

This record by the jazz saxophonist who is being name checked as a modern day COLTRANE or BIRD PARKER, is being touted as an album of the year, let alone jazz album of the year……tie in’s with the hipness of  KENDRICK LAMAR and FLYING LOTUS would help the aul image id say.

Listen for yourself….

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8NFS8WXfCI

Warner has the newest release from the ever growing JOE BONNAMASSA catalogue…..lot of interest in this one….” Live at radio city music hall” is available via Mascot/Provugue on CD, CD/DVD, CD/ BLURAY and LP.

Warner also has the new TRIVIUM album “silence in the snow” which is there 7th album available via Roadrunner on CD, deluxe CD and LP.

trivium

WARNER also has the second album from RUDIMENTAL “ we are the generations”  on the same formats as above.

The next in the BOWIE series of 40th anniversary 7” vinyl picture discs out on the 2nd also….” Space oddity”… this time around.

MORBID ANGEL “entangled in chaos” an old live album see’s its debut on the old vinyl record.

Lastly from Warner is the new record from DEAFHEAVEN “new Bermuda” ….indie exclusive here on solid black and solid white vinyl….

I am a sucker for the aul indie exclusive ones….wee Daniel could have a vocal and panpipe only version of GOD SAVE THE QUEEN and I would be in the queue of record shops to get my hands on it.

Reason being you may ask?

Well, if bands, artists go out of their way to try and support us by saying look we want these 2000 gold records to go to indie shops, not online, not to supermarkets, not to chain stores….well I feel as one of those shops that we should support back where we can….(its obviously a ploy for lesser known bands to get into stores, naught wrong with that)

A lot of bigger names than THE EDITORS use there own personal websites to sell the exclusive stuff….not for you Mr. Record shop man or woman…..no way, not for you.

I for one, adverse to my business as it is, would have zero qualms with the Editors if those 2000 gold records available were only available through their website….they must and need to be paid first, or the truth of it, their record label must get paid….but that’s a tale I told already or will tell again….not for now.

But when the likes of ELTON JOHN reissue “goodbye yellow brick road” on vinyl and have yellow copies available only via his personal website….that slightly irks me…Elton was around at a time when there was truckloads of money made when you were selling records, not to mind royalties…..so I find this a bit rich….but he is more than entitled to do it….i hope my point is seen here.

Universal for the 2nd have the 14th album by pop geniuses that are SQUEEZE, “CRADLE TO THE GRAVE”.

Have a little listen here…

squeeze

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tS2w2jUuyOI

They also have an EAGLES OF DEATH METAL release featuring as ye know JOSH HOMME of QOSA.

Some PAUL MCCARTNEY solo reissues on 2CD, 2 LP and deluxe thingys…” pipes of peace” and “ tug of war”….two different fancy boxsets on the latter.

Lastly from UNIVERSAL is a live LYNYRD SKYNYRD from Jacksonville Florida.

SONY don’t have much for the 2nd….they have taken over the rights for predominately metal label CENTURY MEDIA from UNIVERSAL and so there first release is a new MALEVOLENT CREATION album, also new ones QUEENSRYCHE, NEW YEARS DAY and that PHIL SPECTOR Christmas album reissue on vinyl that is supposed to be coming out since the summer….

A complete aside here…. i traded in the broken red feestttiiii for a dark green feestttiii ( ye remember the crying at the side of the road story. Broken car, broken phone story) well the new Raymobile is a year older than the old raymobile….but what a difference a year makes….98 to 99 what went on in the ford feesstttiii engineering department….last one 99…electric windows, central locking, CD player….bare with me here, this is going somewhere….a rather meaningless somewhere, but somewhere all the same…now David Byrne….anyway the deluxe 98 version, roll up and down windows, individually lock each door, and a cassette player, yep a cassette player…heres the punchline….thanks to a few lying around at home and the generosity of a few of ye guys…mad mix tapes and all….i am starting to have feelings for these tapes, powerful feelings, hard to put into words feelings…I thinks its love…..anyway all good with the car aside from it deciding how long before it will leave you in to it and then how long before it will allow you to start the engine….other than that drives like a dream….from the early 80s….until the next sad tearful episode at the side of the road….maybe I can do the video from there.

Cargo have Belfast band GIRLS NAMES “ARMS AROUND A VISION” third full album release and I must be honest I really really like this….

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpqkGFGnOD4

Republic of Music have the new CLUTCH album “psychic warfare”  also for the 2nd

MOV has JOHNNY CASH “ bitter tears” concept album about the plight of the native American Indians, they have an acoustic ALLMAN BROTHERS “ an evening with” and the MILES DAVIS bootleg series volume 4 at Newport on 8 LPs….

WARNER are using me as a medium to liberate more cash from ye…..see the cunning way I turn it on to the big bad man and away from me…mourhino would be proud….anyway, this is the story….

Attached is a Warner vinyl promotion ….

The first seven titles are a once of run of 2500 per title across Europe on bloody red Vinyl ( red is in vogue lately) …each retailing at 25 euro….

The rest of the titles on the list are reductions…best prices marked im afraid…but at least 6 or 7 cracking titles retailing at 15 euro by bands like, RADIOHEAD “ BENDS”, ZEPP 2, JOY DIVISION ‘CLOSER’ , COLDPLAY, ROYAL BLOOD, FLEETWOOD MAC, THE POGUES and THE EAGLES.

Also then a select few at 10 euro including THE SPECIALS ‘ LIVE AT THE MOONLIGHT CLUB”……anyway that’s the sceal….if anyone wants something ….pop me a mail….

Went to see JOHN BLEK AND THE RATS last Friday night …great show and the new record is a sublime listen….single here…

Hi Everyone,
Hope all is well.

Last Friday was culture night; evening or day, whatever took your fancy, and as mentioned last week we had EAMON DWYER in at 4pm promoting his debut album, “that wrinkled shirt”, RAISING JUPITER at 5 pm,JOHBLEK AND THE RATS in at 5.30/5.45 launching their brilliant second album “borders”….which was released on the day…..so big scoop for the shop that one, so thanks to the acts and everyone who called in to say hello and listen to a few tunes from some of our local songsmiths.

This week we shall quickly run through releases for Friday 25th September.

bowieset

Warner for the 25th has the BOWIE 5 years box set on Vinyl record and CD….we spoke about it a week or so back…

The new (third) DEAD WEATHER vinyl record and CD is out on the 25th also…a fair bit of interest in this one….ALISON MOSSHART (THE KILLS), DEAN FERTITA (QOSA), JACK LAWERENCE (RACONTEURS) and lastly the bold JACK WHITE….jumping around on all instruments…jumpin jack…..recorded at third man on analog tape…nice….looking forward to giving it a listen.

deadweather

The newest NOEL GALLAGHER album has gotten the remix treatment on LP….its a fine album in my opinion as is the new RICHARD HAWLEY in my opinion.

Universal for the 25th have quite a few releases.

New and second albums from both CHVRCHES and DISCLOSURE….who would you think is the bigger band…in record company terms…not my terms…?

Well you may not believe this but CHVRCHES sold half a million copies of their debut album….half a million!!

I do like their new single…..did not really like the first album all that much…..only about 500,000 people thought different!

DISCLOSURE second album is on a standard 11 track CD, 14 track deluxe CD and 14 track double LP….read the last few sentences again…..first time with one of the major record companies I have noticed that the physical vinyl buyer has not being penalized for being solely a physical vinyl record buyer….delighted to see that.

Every time before that there is a deluxe CD format, the VINYL RECORD buyer gets shafted on the bonus tracks…..only getting the standard tracks on the LP…so great to see the DELUXE vinyl…..only right to….what other business would penalize their customers who support their most expensive products….but hey this is the record industry!!

QOSA wrote a song about it….

Uni have a new album from DON HENLEY “ CASS COUNTY” …his 5th solo offering, first in 15 years…

There is a limited to 30 copies in Ireland CAFÉ MAMBO LP….

A RAMMSTEIN DVD or BLURAY entitled “in Amerika” …ramm      bobmarley

The BOB MARLEY Island catalogue is getting the vinyl reissue treatment.

So the nine studio albums and 2 live albums will be available in a box set…11 LPs…. or individually ( including classic albums like, EXODUS, NATTY DREAD, KAYA, UPRISING, BABYLON BY BUS) …..or in a super douper fancy boxy thingy which includes a special Ouija board which allegedly lets you communicate with Robert for up to 30 seconds…. only 450 yoyos….see our TV channel….if you want to give a few of these for Christmas presents, just let me know!…..( the Ouija board bit I made up…just in case)

Lastly from Universal is the QUEEN box set….18 LP set….all different colours ….my beefy friends in the sky were about 500 euro for the set, now 420 ish….we your local independent corporation are 370 euro…no ouija board….but truly different colours….great band by the way….great band…..the best front man ever???

queen

The 15 albums are being released individually also…..all the vinyl reissues were cut at half speed…..hah ray?…..basically the master tape is played back at half speed which then gives the cutting head twice the time to cut the complex analog groove…..this gives more accuracy with frequency extremes or eh just makes it sound better….as ye all know anyway…!!!

I watched the best 8 minutes of telly on Tuesday morning in work….one word for it….Brilliant….but I will use more….it was thoroughly enjoyable, refreshing, honest and brave??!!

Please please watch this….it will improve your day…great characters, great and some great tunes

Fair fucks to you Daniel ANDERSON….that’s all I can say….his record “patterns” ( seen once or twice in this video) is released tomorrow also and is in stock with us……lovely listen too, hints of DIVINE COMEDY ….better news or equally good news….he is playing Coughlans on Friday the 9th OCTOBER and ANDERSON is going to visit Music Zone on that same day to play a few tunes also…..all good…get in on the tickets lively I would think….latest tune here

Right, next up is the PIAS releases for the 25th…..

Where do I start here…..

We will give preference to age….all interesting by the way….but gotta respect the elders…

neworder

NEW ORDER have a new record “music complete” out next week on clear vinyl , cd and deluxe CD …..Minus Mr. Hook….but sounding good to be fair…getting great reviews everywhere…..

Next up is the new KURT VILE record….looking forward to hearing this one….his 6th album…” believe im going down” …have a quick listen here

Now next up is a real interesting one in my opinion….

GIRL BAND are a four piece from Dublin….with a blend of experimental noise rock, with a hint of shoegazing thrown in for a bit of measure….the lead singer looks like he should be advising wealthy old geezers on what to do with their wealth….but man both he and the music can keep your attention. big time….when I prep for this newsletter I normally listen to everything for 30 seconds at least…( there’s a lot on it every week and you do it every week at 1 am!!) but I have watched this below twice in full…there’s something happening here, what it is ain’t exactly clear….these 4 guys are playing THE PAV on SATURDAY THE 3RD OCTOBER….i would reckon get in there early for tickets again….could be a cracker….will be id say….i really like….debut album with us next Friday….

girlband

Sony has a re issue of the RUN THE JEWELS second record out on the 25th….

Proper for next week have a new COURTNEY BARNETT 7” single, MY DYING BRIDE new on o Vinyl record and the new ALVIN brothers record …not the chipmunks.

Check out the movers and shakers on the website

Home

Woo- hoo the new JOHN BLEK AND THE RATS ALBUM tomorrow…..drop in if you are around for any or all the live stuff…

Sin e for this week…

Thanks for listening,

Ray.

Hi Everyone,

Hope all is well.

Hope none of ye got murdered by a psycho killer when ye stopped to help a broken down motorist on a main road in broad daylight.

Christ, give it a rest Ray…

I got quite a reaction from that one….from an unknown unsubscriber who kindly from behind the comfort of his Smartphone said “I can’t believe I signed up for this shit…..yada yada yada….blah blah blah”

Stuff like that makes you feel real good about trying to do something positive for your business which is time consuming and mainly done late at night when the body and mind are not at their mae west.

That’s the great power of the aul social media crack, say what you want, when you want….you are only tapping a few keys on a phone.

Aside from that reaction, most people told me that “to be honest Ray, I don’t think I would have stopped for someone either”….so my 0.5 % stat looks fairly solid…

Anyway enough of that before I get more abusive emails….

johnbleketc

Loads of interesting stuff for the 18th of September …..Where do I start……

We are going to kick off with the record I am looking forward to the most that week and it is the second offering from local unsigned band JOHN BLEK AND THE RATS.

The first album is great as those of you who know it I’m sure would agree….and I think this one is in a slightly different direction…..which I for one like….you cant do the same album again….change is good in my opinion….i know that the lads are really happy and proud of it.

I have only heard one track from the record ( hint hint ) but I love that track, so we really cant wait to get listening, playing and selling it.

May have John and a few of the lads in soon to do a bit of an in store, will keep ye posted on that.

Here’s the lead single….enjoy….

I suppose next up has to be the new DAVID GILMOUR record “RATTLE THAT LOCK”.

GILMOUR is nearly 70…..the rock gods are pushing on….i really liked his last album “on an island” which was about 10 years ago…so I am looking forward to hearing this new record….GILMOUR has a style of guitar playing which few can match…. really layered and rich texture and sound to it.

The album is available on four formats, CD, CD/DVD, CD/BLURAY and gatefold VINYL.

gilmo

Our vinyl price beats the vast forest in the sky by about 6 or 7 Euros also….just to let ye know…

Here’s the single from the album…

Sony also has a few nice CD BOXSETS out on the 18th also from JEFF BECK, SIMON & GARFUNKEL and JOHNNY CASH.

UNIVERSAL have another classic reissue from TASTE “LIVE AT THE ISLE OF WIGHT” which was recorded soon before they split.

taste

This beauty is reissued on four formats, CD, DVD (never before) BLURAY (never before) and double LP (not being around for a good while)….similar price difference as above…just saying is all!!

Universal have the new LANA DEL REY album out on the 18th also…..her third full release….i think??

She writes her own tunes and plays the guitar so that’s all right mama, that’s all right for you….and for me too.

lanadel

The VINYL LP is a double on bloody red vinyl for the first run only….just saying again is all.

“HONEYMOON “is the album title…..here is the single…

New record out from KEITH RICHARDS on Universal called “cross eyed heart” …his third solo album…last two excellent….being a while though since the last solo record…over 20 years….quality over quantity….a band mate of his could take a leaf out of his book…..oh catty Raymond…..look back to the top of the page…oh he who hath not sinned and all that…….lots to play on the 18th.

Univ also have a new record from CHRIS CORNELL (SOUNDGARDEN, AUDIOSLAVE) as well as a reissue of his “euphoric morning” record.

RITCHIE BLACKMORE has a new release under the BLACKMORE’S KNIGHT logo called “all our yesterdays”….on CD, DELUXE CD and GATEFOLD VINYL.

Reissues also from B.B KING – LIVE IN COOK COUNTY JAIL LP and some NIGHTWISH reissues including CENTURYS CHILD.

I have mentioned price above a few times for more than just one reason…I spoke about some other great friends of independent retailers, TESCO , last week and it has being a topic with many on the shop floor in recent days.

tescoh

Here is a somewhat contradictory piece about it….to kill us…to kill us not…to kill us….to kill us not

Here are a few thoughts/questions of mine

1. 1.5% of all music sales in the UK….are they clutching at straws after a failed download service attempt….( Christ, the fuckers try and get into everything don’t they)

2. Surely it’s a uniqueness thing…independent record shops? FLAWED AS WE ARE!!!!

3. is price king??? I quoted that we are cheaper than those friends in the sky tonight a few times….to what extent does it matter??

We are not as surgical as giant online retailers….i see daily examples of human error from warehouses, suppliers, reps, myself, the lads….we are all human….but when you are up against super efficiency, human error don’t cut the mustard with some people….” Its out of stock with the supplier” “ it was left short from the order” …etc etc etc. not perceived as good enough these days and probably correctly so….but that is the nature of my beast.

I ordered 7 king crimson records last week for a customer….i queried the stock availability before I ordered and was told “the stock should be alright”….it wasn’t… five came in….now the customer was cool beans but it would not happen with the surgeons in the sky….but at ground level here we are all under pressure trying to make a living, staffing in the record companies to the bone ( as is what happened in this case…they did not check) ….but forensically to Joe consumer….that isn’t good enough.

They have a different model, those beasts, have truckloads of cash and governments giving them free land to create low paying jobs….so powerful its scary…..but I am going down the lane towards sidetracks and I really don’t want to go there so let’s move back to the other boot boys TESCO.

I suppose they can fill their selves with records….only pay for what they sell….and they have no risk but also no uniqueness…..i personally don’t think it will work for them in the short term anyway….market just isn’t there at the moment I feel and the folks into the records generally know their shit and I just don’t see them in Tesco’s buying records….perhaps I am deluded…time will tell I suppose…but I only see them taking on major releases in the short term but watch this space im sure it will reappear again…my love for them has not just sprung up overnight by the way, it’s deep and goes back quite a while….they have consistently done their best to put fellas in my line of work and my others out of business….Joe consumer may not always realize that they have used music/film consistently as loss leaders to get you through the doors….we can make loads of money elsewhere on toiletries, chocolate, deli, rashers, beans etc etc ….anyway I’m moving on up now ….I wasted enough breath on them.

Warner has the second album by Frames front man GLEN HANSARD….always brings quality to the table in my opinion.

glenboy

Here is the new single…

New album also out from the gorgeous vocalist GABRIELLE APLIN, her second album…..loads of band’s second albums happening in the coming weeks

WARNER has a double JAMES TAYLOR greatest hit on CD, a new album from CROSSFAITH from Japan and a new CD from ANNIHILATOR.

Also new ones from ROB THOMAS (MATCHBOX TWENTY), KWABS (who has a great voice…link below) speaking of great voices the new RICHARD HAWLEY is great in my opinion…really really like it, playing it all week, and last new one from Warner is from NICOLAS GODIN who is 50 % of French band AIR, has recorded a JOHAN SEBASTIAN BACH based record…check attachment.

Some good reissues from Warner also for next Friday including the HAPPY MONDAY’S “pills thrills and bellyaches”, SUPERGRASS “ I SHOULD COCO” and KING CRIMSON “USA”

PIAS have a few BERT JANSCH reissues out for the 18th September.

Proper for the 11th September has a new Seamus Begley entitled “ the bold Kerryman” just in time for the football final…

If any of ye have copies of BEGLEY & COONEY “ MEITHEAL” , well its going for about 50 euro 2nd hand on CD and more off course on LP….great album.

SUEDE live at the albert hall CD version is out also.

culture

On the local scene quite a bit going on in the shop next Friday the 18th of September.

We at the Music Zone Corporation are involved in Culture night or in our case Culture evening.

We are a cultural venue in the city on the day in question so we have some live music in store on the day so if you are around pop in and say hello, stay for a few tunes and chillax…….it’s going to be easy going as can be….sing a song if you fancy that, tell a joke….. as I know loads of ye fancy yerselfs as comedians

At 4 PM we have local singer songwriter EAMON DWYER who released a fine album a few months back “that wrinkled shirt”.

Eamon will be doing a few tunes from that album on the day.

At 5 P.M we have good friends of the shop and really fine rock band, RAISING JUPITER, belting out a few tunes for us all.

Raising Jupiter

RJ are doing a bit of promotional work for their latest release “ THE CHROME EP” …so we look forward to hearing the lads play again.

And lastly at 5.45 PM we have JOHN BLEK stopping in to play a few tunes from the really excellent new album “BORDERS” by JOHN BLEK AND THE RATS.

Have been listening to the record over the last few days and it is a fine listen…….not a weak track….really well produced I thought also giving a great sound in general.

Really strong unique vocals from John backed up extremely well by his craftsmen and woman, great relationship at times between the drums and the bass, brilliant chaos on guitar on occasion, beautiful bit of steel and keys throw in for good measure, all the time with great harmonies and melodies.

Really fine record and the folks are right to be proud of it….very proud of it they should be….i hope as many people as possible get to hear it.

As mentioned at the top of the page, the album is only released on Friday so an opportunity to kill two birds, get to see John live and be among the first to buy the album also….three birds as I am sure John will sign the album for you also….so all good as Damo would say….

If you can’t get into us, remember to check the site and we can post the records out to you,

Home

Sin e for this week anyway,

See ye all next Friday so……!

Thanks!

Ray.
